All Drinks Bright & Beautiful

At this time of year, there’s something disproportionally cheering about walking into a room to be greeted by a colourful concoction. Taking the lead from Jo Malone London’s limited-edition Orange Bitters Cologne, Denis Broci, Head Barman at London’s renowned Claridge’s Hotel, shares his recipe for creating the most intoxicatingly bright and bold cocktail.

The Orange Passion is a drink best served short. With a whisky base partnered by a dash of sparkling citrus, it’s the ideal winter warmer. Perfect after a brisk afternoon walk or as a Christmas Eve nightcap.

The Orange Passion

Ingredients

50ml Chivas Royal Salute whisky
10ml Drambuie
10ml lemon sherbet
10ml lemon juice
3 dashes orange flower water
3 dashes orange bitter flavouring
1 drop of olive oil

Method

Pour all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker and shake thoroughly over ice. Strain through a fine strainer. Serve in a vintage coupe glass, with a heavy dusting of sugar around the rim.

All that’s left is to raise a toast. Cheers!
